Job Overview

Are you a certified Infrastructure/DevOps professional with a creative flair and passion for content design? This role blends technical expertise with instructional design leadership to deliver impactful, learner-centered digital learning experiences. As a Principal Instructional Designer – Infrastructure & DevOps, you’ll act as both content strategist and SME, transforming complex frameworks in DevOps, networking, system administration, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and server technologies into clear, engaging, outcome-driven content. You’ll own the content lifecycle from ideation to delivery—ensuring instructional quality, industry alignment, and learner engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end content development lifecycle: research, scripting, storyboarding, reviews, and iterations.
Design instructionally sound, creative learning experiences across formats—video courses, hands-on labs, interactive walkthroughs, and assessments.
Align content with industry certification frameworks (Docker Certified Associate, Kubernetes Administrator, DevOps Engineer, AWS/Azure DevOps, CCNA/CCNP, etc.).
Apply learner-centered design to close skill gaps, improve retention, and ensure job readiness.
Collaborate with visual designers, editors, and technical SMEs to deliver compelling and accessible content.
Use Generative AI tools to enhance content ideation, scripting, and personalization.
Ensure instructional consistency, storytelling quality, and clarity across all deliverables.
Optionally support bootcamps and virtual training delivery; mentor junior content developers.

Skills & Qualifications

8+ years of hands-on experience in Infrastructure & DevOps technologies, with exposure to content planning and development.
Strong background in instructional design and digital learning product development.
Excellent writing, scripting, and storytelling skills to explain complex technical concepts with clarity.
Practical expertise with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, networking systems, and server administration tools.
Relevant DevOps/Infrastructure certifications (Docker Certified Associate, CKA, AWS/Azure DevOps Engineer, CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Server+/Linux+).

Preferred/Additional Skills

Familiarity with Generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for content creation.
Experience delivering live/virtual/hybrid training in infrastructure technologies.
Knowledge of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy).
Ability to analyze learner feedback and improve content based on performance/engagement data.
Leadership experience in managing cross-functional learning programs.
