About the Role:

Cognizant is seeking a Deskside Support Engineer to join our growing IT support team on a 12-month contractual basis. In this role, you will provide hands-on technical support for desktops, laptops, and end-user systems, ensuring a seamless IT experience for internal users. You’ll troubleshoot hardware/software issues, maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, and help optimize IT support operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues on Windows and Mac environments.
  • Handle end-user requests, log detailed service tickets, and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide support for Windows 10, Office 365, and Mac OS platforms.
  • Assist in troubleshooting network issues and basic Active Directory administration.
  • Offer remote support, including AV/teleconferencing systems and presentation equipment.
  • Escalate unresolved issues and system outages following standard protocols.
  • Maintain knowledge of internal SOPs and policies to deliver consistent support.
  • Ensure professional communication and provide user-friendly solutions.
  • Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 2–3 years of experience in Deskside/Desktop Support.
  • Proficient in Windows 10, Office 365, Mac OS, and remote desktop tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in hardware, network, and software issues.
  • Good understanding of Active Directory, remote tools, and ticketing systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Exposure to AS400 systems is a plus.
