Position Description

Ford is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our quality engineering team. This role focuses on full-stack test automation, ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our financial applications. You’ll be working across UI and API layers, contributing to CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving best practices in test engineering.

This is a high-impact role for those passionate about test automation and experienced in building sophisticated test frameworks for complex, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test suites for UI and API layers.
  • Work closely with development, QA, and product teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Build and scale test automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, Rest Assured, Appium, Cucumber.
  • Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and CloudBuild.
  • Perform end-to-end testing for complex financial applications involving multiple channels and integrations.
  • Conduct database validation using advanced SQL for data integrity.
  • Ensure test reliability across mobile and cloud platforms (e.g., Headspin, Perfecto).
  • Utilize test management tools such as Xray, TestRail, ALM.
  • Collaborate across global teams and contribute to test strategy, process improvement, and automation roadmaps.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in QA/test automation in the Finance domain.
  • Proficiency in programming languages: Java, Python, JavaScript, or Groovy.

Experience in:

  • UI Automation using Selenium, Appium, Playwright.
  • API Automation with Rest Assured, SoapUI.
  • BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
  • Strong experience in CI/CD pipelines, GitHub version control, and scripting.
  • Expertise in SQL and database validation.
  • Exposure to test execution in mobile cloud platforms (e.g., Headspin, Perfecto).
  • Experience with test and bug tracking tools such as Jira, Xray, ALM.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work across global teams and time zones.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP).
  • Familiarity with CloudBuild, JMeter, LoadRunner.
  • Exposure to AI tools (e.g., GenAI) for automation.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
  • Understanding of market trends in FinTech automation tools and frameworks.
Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (required).
