Role Overview

We are seeking a Specialist IMT eMotor (Mechanical Design Engineer) to join our team in the automotive sector. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize electric motor systems for advanced automotive applications. Your expertise in mechanical design and analysis will help drive the performance, efficiency, and reliability of our electric vehicle technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate innovative production engineering solutions and develop them to series-production readiness.
  • Support the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing processes for eMotor components.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies such as hairpin winding and high-speed motors into production lines.
  • Collaborate with R&D and product engineering teams to industrialize next-generation motor designs.
  • Support supplier development and process validation for outsourced components.
  • Develop production-suitable component designs (Design to Manufacture).
  • Execute production trials, procure prototypes, and develop testable samples.
  • Conduct process and product cost calculations with reference to innovative manufacturing technologies.

Knowledge & Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Mechanical Design of eMotors for automotive applications.

Skills & Competencies

  • Experience in component development (preferably in drivetrain systems).
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and technologies for eMotors and drivetrain.
  • Experience in process planning; project management experience is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of automotive engineering requirements and relevant industry standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; strong communication and presentation skills in English (German language skills are an advantage).
  • Team player with strong focus on goals, innovation, and problem-solving.
