About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Specialist – Industrial IoT to lead the design, modeling, and implementation of intelligent graph data systems for industrial operations. This role involves working at the intersection of data engineering, industrial automation, and digital transformation, helping enterprises modernize their operational ecosystems across Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, and Process Industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret engineering documentation such as P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Design and implement graph data models to represent equipment, instrumentation, control systems, and process relationships.
- Develop ETL pipelines to convert P&ID data (from PDFs, CAD, or XML formats) into graph-based data structures.
- Collaborate with domain experts to ensure semantic accuracy and contextual alignment of graph relationships.
- Optimize graph queries and performance for large-scale industrial datasets.
- Integrate graph database solutions with enterprise systems such as CMMS, SCADA, and ERP.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship on graph database best practices.
- Document data models, workflows, and methodologies for long-term maintainability and scalability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software development.
- Proven hands-on experience with graph databases such as Neo4j, AWS Neptune, or TigerGraph.
- Strong understanding of P&ID structures, ISA standards, and process engineering principles.
- Experience with data extraction from engineering drawings (OCR, CAD parsing, etc.).
- Proficiency in Cypher, Gremlin, or SPARQL query languages.
- Familiarity with industrial ontologies and semantic modeling (e.g., ISO 15926, OPC UA).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Oil & Gas digital transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of Industrial IoT platforms and data integration architectures.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Exposure to AI/ML techniques for diagram interpretation and data enrichment.
