Shift Timing: 5:30 PM – 2:30 AM IST (occasional late hours for global meetings; US Eastern hours during 4–6 weeks of onboarding)
About the Role
Comscore is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer II to help ensure the highest quality in our software products by conducting thorough testing, identifying defects, and maintaining industry-leading QA standards. You will work closely with developers, project managers, and other QA engineers to design and execute test plans, automate testing frameworks, and enhance overall product quality. This role requires a strong foundation in automation testing using Python, a deep understanding of networking protocols, and a passion for ensuring software excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers to design, develop, and test automation frameworks.
- Identify functionality errors and potential risks before production release.
- Perform browser and cross-browser test automation using Python and Auto-IT Desktop.
- Log, track, and document all issues in the defect tracking system (JIRA or equivalent).
- Execute comprehensive test suites to ensure alignment with business and technical requirements.
- Conduct data investigations using SQL and analyze trends to identify production issues.
- Ensure software releases comply with company data handling and security policies.
- Assist in troubleshooting production and development issues with software engineers.
- Maintain proactive communication with developers and project managers on test progress and risks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 5–6 years in software QA roles, with hands-on automation experience using Python and Auto-IT.
- Automation Tools: Selenium, JIRA, MS Project, SVN, GitHub, GIT (3+ years).
- Networking Knowledge: Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, DHCP, SSL handshakes (2+ years).
- Operating Systems: Experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux; command-line proficiency with shell/bash (18+ months).
- Testing Expertise: 4+ years in functional, integration, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing.
- Debugging Tools: Fiddler, Wireshark, or equivalent (3+ years).
- Programming Knowledge: SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML (3+ years); basic Perl scripting (2+ years).
- Experience Areas: Web services, business intelligence, and data analytics (4+ years).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to multitask and work independently.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
