Role Overview
Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve in the financial services sector? We’re seeking a Lead Data Scientist – AI/ML to join our Asset and Wealth Management team. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions with a strong focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP), Information Retrieval, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Machine Learning (both supervised and unsupervised). You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to bring cutting-edge AI applications to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of AI/ML models, especially for NLP, LLMs, and other language-centric applications.
- Translate business problems into robust AI solutions and deploy them in production environments.
- Write and maintain clean, efficient, production-grade Python code, following best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in AI/ML, benchmarking and evaluating new technologies and frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, engineers, and data analysts.
- Build tools and infrastructure for AI system monitoring, evaluation, and scaling.
- Guide junior team members and foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Own and manage the complete AI/ML development lifecycle from ideation to model deployment.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML with a strong focus on Python.
- Deep knowledge in:
- Natural Language Processing
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Supervised & Unsupervised Learning Techniques
- Information Extraction & Retrieval
- Proven ability to develop, test, and deploy machine learning pipelines.
- Proficiency in unit testing, code optimization, and version control practices.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities.
- Comfortable working in an agile and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of presenting complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for innovation and a product-oriented mindset.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Exposure to AI/ML observability and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with MLOps workflows and best practices.
