About the Role

At Workato, security is fundamental to everything we do. We are seeking a skilled Cloud Security Engineer with deep expertise in Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and AWS security. In this role, you will be responsible for continuously monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing the security posture of Workato’s AWS environment. You will work closely with Infrastructure, DevOps, and Security teams to design secure architectures, implement automated remediation workflows, and lead incident response efforts. Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor AWS environments using CSPM tools to identify misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps.
  • Develop and maintain automated remediation workflows to address risks in real time.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, and Security teams to embed security best practices in architecture and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Lead incident response efforts for cloud-related security incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Participate in daily on-call rotations for timely incident handling and alert response.
  • Manage and optimize the CSPM platform to ensure comprehensive visibility and accurate reporting.
  • Conduct risk assessments and compliance audits based on frameworks such as CIS AWS Foundations, AWS Well-Architected Framework, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
  • Maintain clear documentation, dashboards, and reports on cloud security posture for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest AWS security features, vulnerabilities, and best practices.

Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Experience: 3–6 years in cloud security, focusing on AWS environments and CSPM tools.
  • AWS Expertise: In-depth knowledge of AWS services, security controls, and the shared responsibility model.
  • CSPM Tools: Proven experience with Wiz, Prisma Cloud, Dome9, Lacework, or AWS Security Hub.
  • Automation Skills: Hands-on experience with Python, PowerShell, AWS Lambda, or CloudFormation for automated security responses.
  • Incident Management: Experience in incident response and participation in on-call security rotations.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with CIS benchmarks, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

  • Strong understanding of IaC principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Experience integrating IaC security scanners like Checkov, tfsec, or Terrascan into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to define and maintain IaC security policies for continuous compliance.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • or equivalent credentials.
