Role Overview

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is a senior executive responsible for developing and implementing the enterprise-wide information security strategy to safeguard the organization’s information assets and technologies. This role involves overseeing the security of internal systems, client data, infrastructure, and applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations, and leading the organization’s cybersecurity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Information Security Strategy & Leadership

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with business objectives and compliance requirements.
• Lead the design and operation of compliance monitoring and improvement activities to ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Serve as the company’s representative on information security matters with clients, partners, and regulators.

Risk Management & Compliance

• Manage risk assessment and mitigation processes, conducting security audits and investigations.
• Oversee the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including GDPR, HIPAA, and others as applicable.

Security Operations & Incident Response

• Support the establishment of a Security Operations Center (SOC) and lead incident response activities.
• Monitor the threat landscape and ensure the organization is protected against evolving cybersecurity threats.
• Implement and manage security tools and technologies to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats.

Collaboration & Team Leadership

• Coordinate security efforts across the company, including IT, HR, legal, operations, and business units.
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing information security team.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to embed security by design in all technology projects.

Qualifications & Skills

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience: 10+ years in information security, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CEH, or similar.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of information security frameworks and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), risk management, incident response, and compliance.
• Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and developing security teams, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating complex technical issues into business language.
